People of the Western Desert Oases - travelling around the Western Desert I visited many of the oases towns and villages... Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla, Kharga and the remote Siwa oasis (with it's traditional womens covering the 'tarfottet').

Sudan - my travels in 2008 finished in Khartoum, Sudan. This set of photographs is of some of the people I came across travelling from Aswan, across Lake Nasser to Khartoum via Wadi Halfa, Dongola, Attbara and Meroe.
Whirling Dervishes at Omdurman, Khartoum - the capital of Sudan is divided by the convergance of the Blue and White Nile: Central Khartoum, Bahri and Omdurman.
Omdurman is located at West Nile riverside. Each Friday night, except Ramadan, Dervish people meet in front of the Hamed an-Nil Mosque to dance. Whirling Dervishes follow Sufism Islam.
